#BookReview – Mrs. Funnybones

Twinkle Khanna is Jane Austen, reincarnated.

Booted with a keen eye that observes every minute detail, an open mind that soaks in information without bias, and an endearing self-deprecating sense of humour, Twinkle Khanna is most definitely my favourite authoress, Jane Austen, reborn. She’s charming, witty and fast becoming one of my role models.

Throughout the book, her ability to keenly observe social norms and behaviour and putting her point across with an impertinence that is so sweet, it can only remind you of  Austen’s literary works. This book is seriously my kind of forever. Even 20 years down the road, I know I’m gonna pick this up and read it with just as much gusto as my first time.

This is a classic, guys. Pour yourself some coffee, get cosy at “your spot” and devour this read!

Pocket Embellishments – Fabspiration

It is a truth universally acknowledged that jeans are your best friends in the casual department of your wardrobe. And we often get influenced by “trending things” and buy a pair of jeans just because it has some embellishment that our other pairs of jeans don’t. And turns out, you don’t wear that pair of jeans as often as you’d think you would at the time of purchase. I call such purchases the “Fantasy Purchases” bought on the whims of a shopaholic mind that gets instant gratification on “owning something that we never had.” But let’s be honest. Jobs are rare, and I’m realising that my hard earned money is just as liquid as my economics professor once said and they do slip by my fingers just as easily as water does.

But I do like a change in my wardrobe, and temporary ways to upgrade it, sound very appealing to me. Since I’m in the mood for playing around with my jeans, a temporary stitching of patches, ribbons, rhinestones and other embellishments around the pocket region of the jeans seems like a great idea where my pair of jeans get to don a different personality and become more playful!

All images are sourced from Pinterest, my heavenly source of inspiration.

Hence, stitch your desired embellishments in a way that it doesn’t come off while wearing it, but once you’re bored of the look, you can easily remove them and bring the pair of jeans back to their original form, or make some other changes with it. I think it’s a fabulous temporary way to upgrade your jeans, without having to spend much!

How To Pack For Goa

Sun. Sand. Sea.

If you’re an Indian, there’s only place you’d think of instantly that is synonymous to these three words: GOA.

A fun weekend destination for Mumbaikars, all of Goa never loses its appeal to all tourists who come here to relax in the cool, sunny beaches while lounging in shacks, having the best seafood food ever!

Home to Portuguese culture, colourful houses, and tones of palm/coconut trees, the dwindling green roads of Goa are a breath of fresh air after coming from a stuffy city life in Mumbai.

Therefore, keeping the destination in mind, here’s a little guide as to what clothes I packed for Goa (sans the swimsuits, since I did none of the swimming one must do).

Hey y’all!

With an unsurmountable amount of happiness in my heart, I’m out here, declaring that I have been accepted to the only college I applied to for my further studies! Do It Yourself – Burberry Inspired Shoes

Post-Template

Hey y’all!

Posting this week’s DIY for you guys, I’m in the mood for keeping all of my heels aside, and make something funky (and comfortable) for my feet.

Thanks to the tremendous database of Style.com and their daily inspirations, I was back to browsing the collections of one of my favourite brands, Burberry, when I came across these wonderful shoes!

Colourful, playful and slightly on the bonkers’ side, these sneakers from Burberry Spring/Summer 2015 are just the right kind of accessory I need in my wardrobe. Funny that they cost a whooping (amount) (well, not really that funny), which sort of made my wallet very sad.

Thus, I decided to do this: Do It Myself.

Yes. The steps to making this are very easy and the materials you need to make these are also very inexpensive (perfect ingredients for any fabulous DIY really!) and they hardly take an hour to make.

So read on to find how easy and fun this DIY is!

Yes. That’s it. Literally a one-Step method to doing this DIY.

And now, I’d love to see you guys give this DIY a try. Don’t forget to tell me all about it, and maybe send a few snaps?

Cheers!

A thousand apologies for posting so late, but I recently got accepted into a university in Milan, and I’m super excited about it. During this time I’ve working on my documentations and all for visa and housing applications, so… I hope you guys understand! I’ll be moving to Italy super super soon, and I can’t wait for it!

Now for today’s DIY. It’s the last of the series for Jewellery Organisation. If you haven’t checked out the previous jewellery organisation DIYs, check them out now!

1. Necklace Organiser

2. Ring Organiser

3. Bracelet Organiser

And just like the other DIY projects from this series, this DIY is Dust Proof! Safe from collecting dust over time and loosing the shiny patina, this method for earring organisation is perfect to store your jewellery without loosing much of its shine through oxidisation.

And here are the instructions.

Easy DIY Hack – Ring Organisation

Hey y’all!

I’m bring you another addition to the  Easy DIY Solution – Jewellery Organisation.

Previously we’ve had dust-proof methods for the Necklace Organisation and Bracelet Organisation, which I sincerely hope you guys liked. Adding on to it this week is the Ring Organiser.

Rings are tiny little baubles that, if you guys are like the careless person I am, can easily get misplaced. This DIY not only ensures it stays tight and in its place while you’re not loosing it, also keeps it dust free. Not to mention the foam used acts as a great way to the shine on the rings.

Find out how by reading the instructions below!
