Do It Yourself – Knotted Rope Belt

Hey y’all!

Bringing you the first of my nautical experimentations this year, I bring you the Knotted Rope Belt, which is an easy rope belt made by a series of slip knots.

It’s one of the most basic knotting techniques using a rope, and it’s going to bring you amazing results which can be used in different outfits and stylised. And the best part is, you can actually wash them off if it gets dirty in the course of time.

So here’s the fabulously easy DIY project for this week along with its steps.

Kalyani Says… Dare To Bare With Lace ‘N’ Tshirt

1_Kalyani Says

Dare to bare! And not quite as you would  think.

I have a new found appreciation for loose oversized tops or boyfriend t-shirts with pantyhose, stockings, lace leggings and long cute socks. It’s quite rebellious and looks like an outfit right out of tumblr even.

Finish off the outfit with accessories such as sneakers, or if you want to be a bit more flamboyant in your expression of freedom and awesome-ness, boots. As for bags I like my most trusted sling bags and drawstring bags. And if they have a bit of bling on them, even better!

Mosh Wear – Velvetesque Denim Jeans

Hey y’all!

This week my mood is set for something elegant but grunge. Bed head, smudged smokey eye make-up, lush red lips, and black. You get the image…

And on such days I like how effortless and rebellious my style seems. Oh! And add some mid-riff flashing crop tops, and I preen like a peacock on the streets. This outfit is my style statement because it involves everything I love.

Gold. Black. Crop top. Velvet. Boots. Smokey eyes. Red lips.

Here are the elements that make up the outfit and you can view the details on my Polyvore account.

Fabspiration of the Week – Velvet ‘N’ Denim

Hey y’all!

This week is the beginning to something awesome because the DIY I have in mind for you is simply AH-MAY-ZING! It’s so bloody awesome, that it tops my charts for being an all-time favourite DIY so far. Like that good.

Let me first explain how the inception of such an idea came about…

Colour blocking is one of my favourite ways to experiment with outfits and recently I’ve enjoyed playing with textures, colours, etc. as you can see from my recent Mosh Says…, DIY Lace ‘N’ Plaid Shirt and DIY The BFF Tshirt.

And sitting inside my craft box is an old charcoal black pair of jeans that is dying to get some revamp done. And then throw in some velvet… Yes! I got the very best of my DIY projects ready to be proudly presented to you.

Stay tuned to see the DIY tomorrow!

Do It Yourself – The BFF Tshirt (Valentine’s Special)

Hey y’all!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, you guys!

And although I’m not a big fan of the day and the flowery, over-the-top lovin’ it brings, I can’t help but take advantage of the day and organise a lovely DIY project for you.

This Valentine’s Day is dedicated to two of my BFFs, one who is in town and one who isn’t, and I hope you will enjoy this with your friends, family, etc. and not just lovers. It’s the day, people all over the world spread love, and we should too!

For this DIY, we took two tshirts of contrasting colours, white and black, to make it pop out even more. So keep your colours in mind and ensure that they complement each other well. And, here is how the DIY is done.

Well! Can you imagine all those amazing BFF tshirts in different colours being used for this project? I can already see amazing crafts coming to life.

If not vertical cuts with tshirts, try horizontal cuts! Even better.

So post your reviews, and comments, and love and I’ll see you soon!
